Subsidy Programme for Fishing Inputs: A&N Administration Supports Local Fishermen

Port Blair, 08 August 2024:

The Department of Fisheries, A&N Administration is implementing a subsidy programme, ‘Supply of Fishing Inputs- Essential Fishery Requisite’ under the UT Plan Scheme- for the bonafide fishermen of A&N Islands.   The pattern of subsidy and eligibility criteria for the programme of the scheme are as under:

Pattern of Subsidy for Non-Tribal Category:  50% of the unit cost with a ceiling of Rs.1500/- per non-motorized Fishing Boat and Rs.3000/- per Motorized Fishing Boats.

Pattern of Subsidy for Tribal Category: 75% of the unit cost with a ceiling of Rs.2200/- per non-motorized Fishing Boat and Rs.4300/- per Motorized Fishing Boats.

Applicant should be a bonafide fisherman/Tribe of A&N Islands possessing registered non-motorized / motorized fishing craft and holding a valid fishing license for two consecutive years including the current year.

Applications have been invited from bonafide fishermen of Municipal and Tribal areas interested in the Procurement of fishing inputs- ‘Essential fishery requisite’ during 2024-25. Application form and detailed terms & conditions of the scheme can be obtained from the Directorate of Fisheries / Zonal Fisheries Offices (N&M Andaman/South Andaman/Nicobar) and nearest Fisheries Sub Stations.

The applications complete in all respect should reach the nearest Fisheries Zonal Office/Sub–Stations on or before 30/08/2024.The prescribed form is also available in the Official Website of A&N Administration (https://www.andaman.gov.in/).
