ANC Biking Team Promotes Har Ghar Tiranga Initiative with Expedition Across Andaman Islands

Port Blair, 14 August 2024:

The ANC biking and trekking team received a warm welcome at the Indian Coast Guard Station Mayabunder yesterday at 4:00 PM, marking a significant moment in their ongoing expedition. The journey, which kicked off from Port Blair on the 10th of August, is part of a larger effort to promote the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative in the lead-up to Independence Day 2024.

Upon arrival at the Coast Guard Station, the team was greeted by approximately 30 riders from the station itself and members of the Karen Youth Club at Panighat Junction. The enthusiasm was palpable as the team and their hosts celebrated this patriotic venture.

After the warm reception, the team proceeded to Mayabunder Junction, where they took part in flag distribution and hoisting activities. These ceremonies were not only a display of national pride but also served as a reminder of the enduring legacy of India’s freedom fighters, encapsulated in the message “Swaraj is my birthright.”

The biking and adventure team, under the leadership of Captain Hritik Diwedi of the Indian Army, comprises officers and personnel from various branches of the Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC), including the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. The team is scheduled to depart from the Indian Coast Guard Station Mayabunder on the 14th of August, continuing their journey to INS Kohassa.

This expedition highlights the unity and dedication of the armed forces in fostering national pride and commemorating the sacrifices of those who fought for India’s independence.
