Port Blair, 14 August 2024:
South Andaman District Police as a part of “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign has spearheaded a series of impactful educational visits to police stations for local school students, with the dual purpose of enhancing their understanding of law enforcement and fostering a sense of patriotic pride. Throughout the week, school children were invited for the PS visits and at the same time police staff also visited schools to engage constructively with the school children.
Understanding the importance of fostering patriotism and pride in Nation Holidays from an early age, South Andaman district police undertook the initiative of Police Station visits for school children throughout this week. Each of the 09 Police Stations in the district have facilitated the visits of school children to Police Stations wherein the working of police, traffic awareness, the community initiatives of the police department have been highlighted.
As part of the initiative to engage children, visits of children from Children’s Homes were also coordinated. various orphanages and Children’s Home within their jurisdiction to highlight the work of the police and raise patriotic fervour among the next generation of citizens.
Focussing on children, South Andaman District Police organised Road walks with school children waving national flags. School children participated with a lot of enthusiasm and pride in these events, further proving the motto of “Catch Them Young” to direct the children in a positive direction for nation building from an early age.
Throughout all these events, the emphasis was placed on civic responsibility, patriotism and the importance of national pride, leaving a lasting impact on the students and reinforcing their commitment to their country. The endeavour of South Andaman district police has been to portray the police department as approachable and citizen – centric organisation, wherein the children should have a positive image of their interaction with the men and women in uniform.
We wish a happy Independence Day to all the citizens. Jai Hind.
