Master Jaishish, a young and talented Muaythai athlete from School Line, has made his hometown and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands proud by securing a bronze medal in the prestigious IFMA Youth World Championship held in Bangkok, Thailand. He competed in the -44 kg category in the 10 to 11 age group, showcasing his exceptional skills on the global stage.
Jaishish, the son of Venkat Lav Kumar and Purnima Mohan, received his Muaythai training under N. Jagadeka Varma at the Champions Zone Muaythai and MMA Club. His hard work and dedication to the sport have already earned him national recognition, with two gold medals at the Muaythai National Championships – first in Chennai in 2023 and then in Assam in 2024.
His selection to represent India in the IFMA Youth World Championship was a proud moment for the Islands, and his bronze medal win makes him the first islander to participate in and secure a medal at the Muaythai World Championships. Master Jaishish’s achievement is a testament to his skill, determination, and passion for Muaythai, and it has brought great honor to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
