In a significant step towards combating the menace of drug abuse, the Directorate of Social Welfare, A&N Administration under the National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) organized a pledge-taking ceremony yesterday in the premises of the Directorate of Social Welfare, Goalghar. The event is part of a broader initiative led by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment (DoSJE), which serves as the Nodal Agency for Drug Demand Reduction across the country.
Shri Kumar L, Secretary, Directorate of Social Welfare, administered the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ pledge to the staff of the Directorate.
Under the banner of ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’, the theme of this pledge is ‘Viksit Bharat ka Mantra, Bharat ho Nashe se Swatantra’. Wide range of activities have been undertaken across the country with the participation of the youth, children, educational institutions, women and the community to sensitize, educate and inform 8+ crore people on substance abuse across the country. As part of this campaign, a country wide pledge against drugs covering all schools, colleges, and public institutions were held across the nation yesterday.
