SRI VIJAYA PURAM- 26 JAN 25:
A ceremonial parade was conducted to commemorate 76 th Republic Day on
26 Jan 2025 at Marina Park Road, Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The parade was reviewed by Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM,
AVSM, YSM, VSM, NM (Retd) as the Chief Guest. The parade comprised contingents
from Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and A&N Police was led by
Maj Provaraj Deori of the Andaman and Nicobar Command.
The parade witnessed showering of petals and flag trooping by ANC Helicopters
during the unfurling of The National Flag by the Chief Guest. Each parade contingent
was represented by one officer and fifteen other Ranks. Accompanying the marching
contingents, a Joint Band of Indian Army and Indian Navy played melodious tunes that
provided captivating backdrop, featuring patriotic and martial music that embodied the
spirit of the Armed Forces.
The day concluded with a spectacular illumination of ships of Indian Navy,
Coast Guard and DSS at anchorage off Marina Flag Post.
The ships were ‘Dressed Overall’ during the day and after sunset, fired colourful flares
and switched on contour illumination lights.
