Port Blair, 06 August 2024:
As decided in the meeting of the CPI (M) A & N State Organising Committee held on 20th July, 2024, the Party has began the programme of Ward Visit with a view to interact with the general public and to know the issues and problems of the people in each area of the Port Blair town. On 04.08.2024, a group of CPI (M) leaders led by its State Secretary D. Ayyappan visited various parts of Ward No.1 of Port Blair Municpal area and interacted with a cross section of the people.
The CPI (M) leaders observed that many of the footpaths and urban roads in Ward No.1 are in deplorable condition as the PBMC failed to undertake repair works of the footpath and roads. CPI (M) leaders observed that garbage has been piled up in various parts of the Ward No.1 causing nuisance to the people staying nearby houses. In some places, people pointed out that street lights are not functioning for the last several months despite making complaints to the authorities. People have complained to the CPI (M) leaders about the continued power disruption in the Port Blair town.
CPI (M) leaders D. Laxman Rao, SP Kalirajan, NKP Nair and KG Samkutty accompanied the State Secretary during the Ward Visit to Ward No.1.
