Port Blair, 12 August 2024:
Demonstrating zero tolerance towards bootlegging activities, Police Station Pahargaon conducted a swift and effective excise raid, resulting in apprehension of one individual and seized 92 sealed IMFL bottles.
Upon receipt of credible information regarding storing of huge haul of IMFL behind an abandoned old quarter opposite Shishu Mandir School, New Pahargaon. Acting swiftly, a team was constituted, comprising of HC Sunil Singh Yadav, PCs Ashish Kr. Singh and Santosh Lall and conducted raid behind the old quarter opposite Shishu Mandir School, New Pahargaon and recovered 24 bottles of 750 ml IMFL & 68 bottles of 180 ml IMFL from the possession of R. Bala Murugan S/o Shri Rama Swamy (39) Yrs, Pvt. Worker R/o Garacharma, Kaju Tikrey. The recovered 92 bottles of sealed IMFL bottles was seized on the spot and apprehended the accused person under relevant section of Excise Regulation.
The entire excise raid took place under the leadership of Insp. Mohd. Elias, SHO, PS Pahargaon under close supervision of Shri. Vikas, IPS, SDPO (S/A) and overall supervision of Smti Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
