Port Blair Municipal Council Organizes Special Camp to Empower Street Vendors with Micro-Credit Loans

The Port Blair Municipal Council, under the guidance of Shri Amit Kale, IAS, Secretary, PBMC, organized a special camp at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium to assist street vendors Port Blair Municipal Council organizes Special Camp to support Street Vendors with micro-credit loans through the PM SVANidhi Scheme. The event was aimed at resolving pending loan sanctions and disbursements while providing training on digital transactions.

In collaboration with local bankers, the camp focused on simplifying the loan application process and enhancing the efficiency of digital transactions. Vendors received training to facilitate their digital payments. Bank representatives also explained the benefits of interest subvention and cash-back incentives for digital transactions. A question-and-answer session was held to address any queries and clarify the scheme’s procedures. This initiative aims to support street vendors by improving their access to financial resources and digital tools, promoting economic growth and digital inclusion within the community.
