Sri Vijaya Puram, 27 Jan 2025:
On 26/01/2025, acting on credible information regarding the illegal storage and sale of a substantial quantity of liquor at Shop No. 11, Uttara Market, a swift and decisive operation was carried out by a dedicated team from Police Station Kadamtala.
The team, led by SI P.M. Krishna Kumar, SHO, PS Kadamtala, included ASI Buddhiswar Haldar, HC Sailen Halder, and PC(D) Santosh Kumar, who promptly reached the location and conducted a meticulous raid. During the raid, the team successfully recovered a plastic carry bag containing (i) 30 Nos. 180 ml IMFL bottle Double Kick Fine Whisky (company-sealed), (ii) 01 No. 375 ml IMFL bottle Milestone Blue Triple distilled grain Whisky sealed broken cont. 150 ml and (iii) 01 No. 180 ml IMFL bottle Double Kick Fine Whisky sealed broken cont. about 90 ml. The illicit liquor was seized from the possession of Sujoy Mondal S/o Late Niran Mondal (24) yrs Shopkeeper Uttara Market R/o Uttara Corner,. When asked to provide valid permits or licenses for possessing such a large quantity of liquor, the accused failed to produce any legal documentation.
Following the seizure, legal action has been initiated against the accused under relevant sections of Excise Regulation for possessing and storing an excess quantity of IMFL without proper authorization.
The entire operation was carried out under the supervision of Sh. Chandan G.S, DANIPS, SDPO Rangat, and the overall direction and supervision of Ms. Shweta K. Sugathan, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
