Port Blair, 12 August 2024:
In fight against bootlegging and sale of liquor illicitly, on 11/08/2024, the police team
of PS Swaraj Dweep achieved a major success and seized a huge quantity of 1287 Nos. of
different measures of sealed IMFL bottles and arrest of one individual.
Upon credible information regarding possession of huge quantity of IMFL by a
person with the intension of selling it illegally, swiftly a raiding team was constituted,
comprising of HC Kuldip Singh, HC(D) Nishal Ruben Ekka, IRBn HC N. Birender
Surin, PCs Mohammed Sharif, G. Dev Raju, PC(D) P. Jagan, PC(D) Taposh Mistry,
CTs Mahesh Sing and P. Mahesh Babu, led by Inspector K. Abdul Nasir, SHO PS
Swaraj Dweep. The team conducted raid in two rooms adjacent to the shop of Sujan
Sikder S/o Shri Sukharanjan sikder (47) Yrs R/o Govind Nagar No 2, Swaraj Dweep
and recovered 1287 Nos. of different measures of sealed IMFL bottles. The recovered
IMFL was seized on the spot and accused person Sujan Sikder was arrested and
brought to PS Swaraj Dweep after observing all codal formalities. The total estimate
value of seized IMFL liquor is Rs.3,33,820/-.
The above operation was conducted under the Supervision of Shri Firoj Alam,
DANIPS, SDPO, Swaraj Dweep and overall Supervision of Smti. Niharika Bhatt, IPS,
Superintendent of Police, South Andaman.
General public are urged to pass information related to illegal activities with
