SWIFT ACTION BY PAHARGAON POLICE SOLVES BLIND ATTEMPT TO MURDER CASE WITHIN HOURS

Port Blair, 19 August 2024:

The Pahargaon Police Station has swiftly resolved a blind attempt to murder case within a few hours, showcasing their dedication and efficiency in upholding law and order. The incident occurred on the late night of 14th August 2024, where an altercation in front of Unique Hotel and Bar, Dollygunj, escalated into a brutal assault on the victim, Ashish Sadhukhan.

The victim was found unconscious at his residence and was immediately rushed to GB Pant Hospital in critical condition, where he was placed on a ventilator. With no initial leads, the Pahargaon Police registered a criminal case against an unknown person, and the investigation was entrusted to SI Sudhir Kumar.

Acting with urgency, the investigation team, led by Inspector Mohd Elias, Station House Officer of PS Pahargaon, thoroughly examined CCTV footage from the area and conducted interviews with local residents. This meticulous

investigation led to the identification of a suspect, Suprobhat Das @ Joy, who has a known criminal background and was found absconding from the area.

After being taken into custody, Suprobhat Das confessed to the crime. The investigation revealed that an altercation between the victim and the accused escalated, resulting in the victim being severely beaten.

The successful resolution of this case was due to the tireless efforts of the police team, which included HCs Ravi Limbu, Sunil Yadav, Ajay Kr. Anand, PCs L. Horo, Ashish Kr. Singh, Santosh Lal, and Nokraju. The operation was conducted under the guidance of Inspector Mohd Elias, with the supervision of Shri Vikas Swami, IPS, SDPO SA, and the overall supervision of Smti Niharika Bhatt, IPS, SP(D) South Andaman.
