TIMELY ACTION BY PAHARGAON POLICE LEADS TO RECOVERY OF STOLEN LPG CYLINDERS

On 22nd September 2024, a case of theft involving three LPG cylinders
was reported by Shri Abdul Shabir from his residence in Austinabad. Acting
swiftly, a criminal case was registered at Pahargaon Police Station. The
investigation was entrusted to Head Constable Simhachalam of PS Pahargaon.
Under the direction of Inspector Mohd Elias, SHO PS Pahargaon, a
dedicated investigation team comprising HC Ravi Kumar Limbu and PCs L. Horo
and D. Shiv Kumar immediately began analyzing CCTV footage from the area
surrounding the crime scene. The footage revealed an unknown individual
stealing the LPG cylinders from the complainant’s residence using a scooty.
Upon tracing the scooty, it was discovered that the vehicle had been used
by Ghanashyam Mondal, 20yrs, a private laborer R/o Garacharma near TTI
College. Importantly, the scooty had been used without the owner's consent. The
accused, Ghanashyam Mondal, was swiftly identified and brought to PS
Pahargaon for interrogation. During questioning, he admitted to the theft and
based on his confessional statement the stolen cylinders were recovered from B.
Hemanth Kumar, a resident of Pathergudda. Acting on this information, the police
successfully recovered all three LPG cylinders.
The swift and effective resolution of this case was made possible due to
the diligent efforts of the Pahargaon police team, working under the guidance of
Inspector Mohd Elias, with supervision from Ms. Anushtha Kalia, IPS, SDPO/SA,
and under the overall supervision of Smti Niharika Bhatt, IPS, SP(D), South
Andaman.
