Veterans Day Celebration for all veterans residing at Andaman & Nicobar Islands
was organized at Nariyal Bageecha, Brichgunj Military Station on 26 Jan 25. Army
component conducted the event on behalf of Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC). Air
Marshal Saju Balakrishnan, PVSM, AVSM, VM, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman &
Nicobar Command (CINCAN) graced the occasion as Chief Guest for the Event.
CINCAN highlighted various outreach programs conducted by ANC for veterans of
Andaman and Nicobar Islands with an aim to establish immaculate communication with
Army, Navy, Air Force veterans and veer-naris for their wellbeing, preventive health care
and time bound resolution of their queries. Phase-I of the outreach program was
conducted between 27 Apr- 01 May 24 for veterans residing at North and Middle
Andaman. Similarly, Phase II was conducted between 27 Jun – 04 Jul 24 at Campbell Bay
/ Great Nicobar Islands. Veterans residing at Kamorta and Nancowrie Group were
covered in Phase III between 24 – 28 Sep 24. Phase IV of the outreach program was
conducted at Sri Vijaya Puram on 30 Nov 24. Representatives from the Indian Army,
Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, ECHS, SPARSH cell and ICICI bank
were present to address queries and critical issues of the veterans. Preventive medical
checkup for life style diseases was carried out, which benefitted large number of veterans
and their families.
During the interaction, CINCAN reiterated the ANC’s dedication to ensure the
welfare and well being of Veterans and Veer Naaris residing in the Andaman and Nicobar
Islands. He also lauded the efforts of veterans in Nation building.
